Ep. 002: A breakthrough on fears of things going wrong with Malka

This is not like most podcasts. Few allow you to sit in on an enlightened conversation with a Master Teacher, and gain the learnings; even have your own breakthroughs…or even be on the show yourself!

Nick talks to another member of the collective, and addresses a key fear. The beauty of this is that most of the questions raised relate to us in some way, and by listening in we can heal ourselves at the same time, even if we are listening later!

Key Points From the Interview:

  • How the ego mind overcomplicates things massively, and how the truth is so much simpler.
  • How Malka has had an “unsafe” feeling for years …..
  • ….and how it was expertly dealt with in 30 minutes!
  • How we are not responsible for others happiness in truth, even though it seems that way.
  • Two key life lessons for parents to teach their kids.

Value Bombs in this Episode

  • All circumstances are inherently neutral and we get to choose the meaning of circumstance.
  • When we become responsible for the happiness of others, we become a crutch that disempowers them.
  • If you’re not allowing yourself to fail, your now allowing yourself to succeed.
  • On any given topic we’re always in the energy of the problem or energy of the solution.

Nick: All right. Welcome to this episode of Change Your Reality. I'm your host, Nick Breau and today we're doing a segment of the 30 Minute Breakthrough. This is where we bring in one of our audience members who has a specific circumstance they want to shift in their reality, and we see how big of a breakthrough we can create for them in about 30 minutes. So today on our show, we've got Miss Malka. Welcome Malka.

Malka: Thank you. Thanks for having me.

Nick: And I believe you are in the Netherlands.

Malka: Yes. I'm from-

Nick: Amazing. And and you've been studying love attraction, spirituality, self-help for, I think a number of years. I know you're in my Freedom Leader program.

Malka: Yeah. I've been very much into it for the last 20 years, I think.

Nick: Awesome. Who are some of your favorite teachers in the last 20 years? What kind of stuff have you been studying?

Malka: A lot of Hay House in the beginning, so the Wayne Dyers, Louise Hay, Marianne Williamson, but I've had my own teachers with breath work and energy reading and energy healing. Then I bumped into you and you actually bring it down and break it down very easily, so I've been into, thought is creative.

Nick: Yeah. I mean, my goal has always been to make it practical so what I realized in my own journey is that I had been studying and reading this stuff for a long time, but if you really want to experience the shifts, you got to do the work. So for me, it's always been about taking all of these theoretical principles and teachings and make them easy and simplified and practical for people so that they can apply them and actually experience the shifts for themselves.

Malka: Yeah. Well, the biggest difference that I've noticed and why I actually joined your collective and The Freedom Formula is that, up until I came across your work, shifting and finding beliefs and doing the work was always really painful and difficult and challenging.

Nick: Yes. Yes.

Malka: With your approach, I find it to be much easier, much more fun and more practical.

Nick: Yeah. I mean spiritual growth or personal growth, I don't think it was ever meant to be complicated. I think the human mind just seeks out things that are complicated because it believes that it's the complicated things that create big results and really it doesn't come down to what's complicated. It comes down to simplicity and consistency and that's what we focus on a lot here.

Malka: Mm-hmm (affirmative). Yeah.

Nick: Awesome. Cool. So you're looking for a 30 Minute Breakthrough today.

Malka: Yes.

Nick: Yeah and what topic are we going to explore for you?

Malka: For me, what I struggle with or what I've identified is unsafe feeling, that's always hovering below the surface and I find it difficult to have strong opinions, always doubting, never sure, not wanting to hurt anybody, not wanting to get it wrong.

Nick: Okay and have you noticed this unsafety or this self-doubt or lack of confidence, is that a good word to say it? Have you noticed how it impacts aspects of reality? Does it impact your business? Does it impact speaking up to other people or relationships? Is there different areas in your life where you see it affecting?

Malka: Well, I see it everywhere because I'm very focused on myself and I bring myself everywhere and I actually feel like I have a pretty good handle on it. I'm not overcompensating or under flying, but I think I could feel much freer-

Nick: Perfect.

Malka: ... if I get to the root of this.

Nick: Yeah. Would you say it's a general unsafety that's always there, or it's on specific topics like-

Malka: No.

Nick: ... it's not safe to speak up. It's not safe to be on social media. So where would you say that unsafety is directed if anywheres?

Malka: Actually, I notice it for myself everywhere.

Nick: Okay. So it's like a general unsafety?

Malka: Yeah. Yeah.

Nick: Perfect. Okay, well, let's play with that. We're going to start off and just Belief Tree it. See where The Belief Tree Process takes us. For people who aren't familiar with Belief Tree Process, what that is a process that evolved after years of doing EFT/tapping. Basically it's about understanding that every negative emotion that we carry, or fear, is rooted in an underlying perspective. So an emotion or a fear can't exist if there is not an underlying belief or perspective that's fueling it.
Oftentimes that belief or perspective is unconscious. We don't know that it's there, and what we do is in this Belief Tree Process, we use probing statements to identify what these underlying perspectives are, and of course, reframe them and work through them and release them/invalidate them. And once we fully invalidate all the branches of beliefs under one of those fears or negative emotions, then that fear negative emotion goes away. And not only in that moment, does it go away, but it should go away for good if you properly invalidate these things. Malka, you're already aware of this process because you're one of the facilitators in The Freedom Leader Training, so you know what this is going to be all about.
Awesome, all right. So let's begin. So that unsafe feeling, if you could tune into it right now, where does it sit in your body? Can you tell?

Malka: Yeah, it's around the ear. So between my heart and my ears.

Nick: Okay. So your shoulder, upper torso, part of your head, ear.

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Zero to 10, how strong is that feeling?

Malka: It's pretty high. It's an eight, eight or nine.

Nick: Like an eight? Okay. This unsafe feeling, can you recognize how long it's been there? Has it been there longer than you can remember? Only for the last couple of years, what would you say?

Malka: No, almost as long as I can remember.

Nick: Perfect. Okay. Now, without getting into your head too much, without analyzing it, by just dropping into your body, just letting whatever answer wants to come up, even if it doesn't make any sense, that unsafe feeling. I feel unsafe because... First thing that comes up.

Malka: I could get it wrong.

Nick: Perfect. So I might get it wrong. So in other words, it's not safe to make a mistake.

Malka: No.

Nick: Zero to 10, how strong is that feeling, it's not safe to make a mistake?

Malka: That's also pretty high, like an eight.

Nick: Perfect. It's not safe to make a mistake because if I do...

Malka: Bad things will happen.

Nick: Yeah. I had a feeling that's where we were going. Zero to 10, how strong is that feeling that bad things are going to happen?

Malka: Yeah, that's big. Yeah, if I go into that feeling, that's a 10.

Nick: Perfect. Just out of curiosity, do you have digestive issues or IBS or have you ever had any problems with your digestion?

Malka: No.

Nick: No. Perfect. Okay. So this feeling, bad things will happen. I feel that way because...

Malka: That's what everybody always says.

Nick: Okay. People say it. Perfect. So you have a belief that bad things will happen because people say it.

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Okay. What if I were to say, "Only good things happen. Only good things ever happen. Only good things happen." I just said it, right?

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Does that mean it's true automatically?

Malka: No.

Nick: So just because somebody else says, "Bad things are going to happen," does that mean it's true?

Malka: No.

Nick: Okay. So do you believe in law of attraction?

Malka: Yes, I do.

Nick: Do you believe that our outer world is a reflection of our inner state of being?

Malka: Yes.

Nick: Good. From the right vibrational vantage point, our circumstances will match the vibration that we're practicing, and if we're practicing a vibration, that all things that happen to me are good, then how would your reality look?

Malka: Great.

Nick: It would look great. Absolutely. Now let's talk about the definition of bad things happening. So I believe it's Wayne Dyer who said, "Circumstances happen for me, not to me."

Malka: Yes.

Nick: Would you agree with that statement?

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Good. So everything is happening for me, in my reality, because everything is co-created with infinite intelligence, with source, with my inner being who is unconditionally loving. If everything is happening for me, from unconditionally loving source, for my growth, for my expansion, for my new awareness to become more of who I really am, does that sound like bad things?

Malka: No, but it feels unsafe to live that truth.

Nick: Okay. And it's not safe to live that truth because if I do...

Malka: I piss a lot of people off.

Nick: Okay, so it's not safe to piss people off?

Malka: No.

Nick: Zero to 10, how strong is that feeling?

Malka: Emotionally, it's high. Mentally, it's not very high.

Nick: Okay. And emotionally, what number would you give it?

Malka: Yeah, I'd give that an eight.

Nick: Eight. And this is one of the reasons I love this Belief Tree Process is because it's really helping us dig into these lower layers, right. You probably had no idea that this unsafe feeling related to not pissing people off.

Malka: No. No.

Nick: Right. So it's not safe to piss people off because if I do...

Malka: They'll get angry with me.

Nick: They'll get angry and it's not safe for people to be angry because if they're angry...

Malka: There's no fun.

Nick: Okay. There's no fun. So when somebody is angry, from a higher level of a awareness, do you understand that, in some way they're choosing that anger?

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Anger is a choice. If somebody, I don't know, makes me a coffee and puts too much cream and sugar in my coffee, at this coffee shop, I can get angry or I can say, "Hey, no sweat. I'll just go talk to her and get a new one." Right?

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: So the direction I go into is up to me. All circumstances are inherently neutral. I get to define the meaning of circumstance and I can choose a meaning that makes me angry or I can choose a meaning that doesn't. So when people get angry, would you agree that that's on them?

Malka: Yeah, but I feel very stupid when they get angry.

Nick: Okay. So right now, if I decided, "I'm going to get angry, because I don't like the color of Malka's kitchen," would you allow yourself to feel stupid, because I choose to feel angry?

Malka: No.

Nick: Do you feel like you're responsible for other people's emotions?

Malka: I know I'm not, but I do.

Nick: Okay. Why do you feel responsible for other people's emotions?

Malka: I don't know.

Nick: Do you feel like you're responsible for other people's happiness? Check in on that one.

Malka: I feel responsible for my children's happiness.

Nick: Perfect.

Malka: I know I'm not.

Nick: Okay. I'm a dad. I've got two kids. They're currently 10 and 12. There's two things I want to teach my kids. One, I want them to learn to tune into their own inner guidance, because that's where the best answers for everything in life are going to come to, to them, agree?

Malka: Yep.

Nick: And second, I want them to be independent, not only in their ability to self sustain their life, but their ability to be happy, because if they're dependent on me for their happiness and they don't learn their own independence in their own happiness, what happens if I disappear? What happens if I go away? What happens if something happens to me, or even if I'm not available? Then their crutch to happiness goes away, which means that they're going to struggle to be happier for themselves if they're dependent on me, right?

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: So in reality, are you truly responsible for the happiness of other people?

Malka: No.

Nick: Are you truly responsible for the happiness of your kids?

Malka: No.

Nick: No. Can you take a second and just acknowledge that and how much better it's going to serve them to learn how to be happy for themselves? Make sense?

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Good. So this belief, that "I'm responsible for my children's happiness," does that feel different now?

Malka: Yes and no, because I often feel sucked into... A part of me is conditioned to agree when they make me responsible.

Nick: Okay. If I asked you, "I can't stop being responsible for their happiness, because if I stop..."

Malka: I feel bad for them.

Nick: And I feel bad for them because...

Malka: I don't know.

Nick: Is it because in that moment they're not going to be as happy as they could be?

Malka: I don't want them to feel rejected.

Nick: Okay. Now, do you have a feeling of rejection?

Malka: An old one, yeah.

Nick: Zero to 10. How strong is that feeling?

Malka: Oh, I feel a lot of sadness coming up.

Nick: Good. That means we're going in the right direction.

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Zero to 10, how strong is that rejected feeling?

Malka: That's a nine.

Nick: Okay. And that rejected feeling, I feel that way because...

Malka: I feel they didn't take proper care of me.

Nick: Perfect. And their inability to take proper care of you, was that because you weren't good enough for them and they were rejecting you, or was that because of their own limitations?

Malka: Their own limitations.

Nick: And it had nothing to do with you. Can you take a second to acknowledge that it had nothing to do with you? It doesn't matter who you would've been, it still would've been the same circumstance, right?

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: So that rejected feeling, they were never rejecting you. Still a nine or has that shifted a little bit now?

Malka: That shifted a little bit now.

Nick: What number would you give it now?

Malka: Not rejected, but-

Nick: Okay.

Malka: This is why I find it so difficult too, because they didn't mean to hurt me. But it did happen and I don't want to do the same.

Nick: Absolutely, right. So we don't want our kids to experience the same moods that we carry, right. And that's how I knew when you said you didn't want your kids to feel rejected that, that was something that you were probably carrying. So what emotion would you say is at the surface now?

Malka: Right now?

Nick: Yeah. So you said that maybe there was some sadness. So now that we've worked through that rejection a little bit, is there something else that's come to the surface?

Malka: Yeah. This is what I'm very used to, that it just feels too confusing. That I can't pinpoint or choose.

Nick: That's. Okay. So can you feel a feeling, right now at the surface, even if you don't know what that feeling is? So let's label it, that feeling. Okay? And zero to 10, how strong is that feeling? This is going to be so life changing for you. This is so good. So that feeling that you're feeling at the surface, zero to 10, how strong is it?

Malka: That's pretty strong. It locks me up.

Nick: Perfect. And that feeling, what's the very first thing that comes to mind when I say, "I feel that way, because..."

Malka: I just don't get it.

Nick: I don't get it. What don't you get?

Malka: I don't get the panic. I don't get the-

Nick: That's okay. So that feeling, can you tell what that feeling is?

Malka: It's as if I'm missing... That I'm missing the point, that I don't see what's happening right in front of me.

Nick: Does it feel like it's not safe to let that feeling go? Even if you don't know what that feeling is, does it feel like it's not safe to let it go?

Malka: It's safe to let it go.

Nick: Okay. Perfect. Can you give yourself permission to let it go?

Malka: Yes.

Nick: How does it feel to give yourself self permission to let it go?

Malka: It feels a bit unreal.

Nick: Okay, does it feel like-

Malka: How will I know if it's really gone?

Nick: Does it feel like it's not possible to let it go?

Malka: No, it should be possible.

Nick: Okay. But do you feel like it's not possible?

Malka: I don't know anything else.

Nick: Okay. It's a habit.

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Okay. Let's tap it a little bit just to see what happens to it. That feeling right now, if you tune into it, zero to 10, how strong is it?

Malka: I couldn't say, but I do feel tenseness in my neck and upper shoulders and everything's like...

Nick: Perfect. So let's tap it a bit, so that tense feeling...

Malka: That tense feeling...

Nick: That feeling in my neck and shoulders.

Malka: That feeling in my neck and shoulders.

Nick: Not sure what it is.

Malka: Not sure what it is.

Nick: Got that tense feeling.

Malka: Got that tense feeling.

Nick: It's been around for a really long time.

Malka: It's been around for really long time.

Nick: It's been weighing me down.

Malka: It's been weighing me down.

Nick: That feeling...

Malka: That feeling...

Nick: I haven't been able to figure it out.

Malka: I haven't been able to figure it out.

Nick: I've got that feeling.

Malka: I've got that feeling.

Nick: That feeling.

Malka: That feeling.

Nick: I feel that way because...

Malka: I feel that way because...

Nick: First thing that pops in your head.

Malka: Terrible things could happen.

Nick: Bad things could happen.

Malka: Bad things could happen.

Nick: Bad things could happen.

Malka: Bad things could happen.

Nick: And it's not safe.

Malka: And it's not safe.

Nick: Because if they do...

Malka: Because if they do...

Nick: Then what?

Malka: Everybody dies.

Nick: Everybody's going to die.

Malka: Everybody's going to die.

Nick: Everybody's going to die.

Malka: Everybody's going to die.

Nick: I feel like everybody's going to die.

Malka: I feel like everybody's going to die.

Nick: Which is true, because at some point we get really old, but that's still not safe.

Malka: But it's still not safe.

Nick: Bad things are going to happen.

Malka: Bad things are going to happen.

Nick: I feel like bad things are going to happen.

Malka: I feel like bad things are going to happen.

Nick: Because...

Malka: Because it's not even mine. I was born into this.

Nick: That's what they taught me.

Malka: That's what they taught me.

Nick: That's what somebody taught me.

Malka: That's what somebody taught me.

Nick: They said, "Bad things happen."

Malka: They said, "Bad things happen."

Nick: And I believed them.

Malka: And I believed them.

Nick: They made me think I had to be afraid.

Malka: They made me think I had to be afraid.

Nick: So I'm holding onto this fear.

Malka: So I'm holding on to this fear.

Nick: That bad things are going to happen.

Malka: That bad things are going to happen.

Nick: Even though my inner being doesn't want me to be afraid.

Malka: Even though my inner being doesn't want me to be afraid.

Nick: Even though Nick doesn't want me to be afraid.

Malka: Even though Nick doesn't want me to be afraid.

Nick: My kids probably don't want me to be afraid.

Malka: My kids don't want me to be afraid.

Nick: So maybe I can go give myself permission to let that go.

Malka: Maybe I can give myself permission to let that go.

Nick: Maybe I don't need to be afraid anymore.

Malka: Maybe I don't need to be afraid anymore.

Nick: Maybe it's safe to give myself permission to relax.

Malka: Maybe it's safe to give myself permission to relax.

Nick: Maybe I can let that fear go.

Malka: Maybe I can let that fear go.

Nick: Because it doesn't serve me.

Malka: It doesn't serve me.

Nick: Just creates resistance.

Malka: Just creates resistance.

Nick: Maybe I can give myself permission to let that go.

Malka: Maybe I can give myself permission to let that go.

Nick: Good. Keep tapping right there. Take a nice deep breath. So that feeling started off as a 10, is it still a 10 or has it shifted a little bit?

Malka: No, it's much lower now.

Nick: Yeah. What number would you give it now?

Malka: Three.

Nick: Three. Good. Does your neck and shoulders feel a little bit looser?

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Yeah? Good. So that feeling, I still feel that feeling.

Malka: I still feel that feeling.

Nick: It's a lot lower.

Malka: It's a lot lower.

Nick: But I'm still hanging on to it.

Malka: I'm still hanging on it.

Nick: Still hanging on to it, just a little bit.

Malka: Still hanging onto it, just a little bit.

Nick: That feeling...

Malka: That feeling...

Nick: I feel that way because...

Malka: I feel that way because I could be wrong.

Nick: I could be wrong. I could be wrong.

Malka: I could be wrong.

Nick: Maybe I am wrong.

Malka: Maybe I am wrong.

Nick: Maybe I've been wrong that something bad's going to happen.

Malka: Maybe I'm wrong that something bad's going to happen.

Nick: Maybe I'm wrong that something bad's going to happen.

Malka: Maybe I'm wrong that something bad's going to happen.

Nick: Because I'm sitting on this call right now.

Malka: I'm sitting on this call right now.

Nick: I seem to be doing just fine.

Malka: I seem to be doing just fine.

Nick: I've got a pretty good life with some good kids.

Malka: I've got a pretty good life with some good kids.

Nick: Would you agree that nothing bad has happened at this point, otherwise you wouldn't be here on this call?

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Yeah. So if you've been worrying about this your entire life and so far, it hasn't played out, what does that tell you?

Malka: That I'm pretty safe.

Nick: Maybe I am pretty safe.

Malka: Maybe I am pretty safe.

Nick: Maybe I've always been pretty safe.

Malka: Maybe I've always been pretty safe.

Nick: So maybe I can give myself permission to let it go.

Malka: So maybe I can give myself permission to let it go.

Nick: Maybe I can completely let it go.

Malka: Maybe I can completely let it go.

Nick: Nick knows I'm safe.

Malka: Nick knows I'm safe.

Nick: My inner being knows I'm safe.

Malka: My inner being knows I'm safe.

Nick: Maybe I can start to see that too.

Malka: Maybe I can start to see that too.

Nick: I really am safe.

Malka: I really am safe.

Nick: I've always been safe.

Malka: I've always been safe.

Nick: And let that feeling really land in your body, that I've always been safe.

Malka: I've always been safe.

Nick: It's okay to let that fear go.

Malka: It's okay to let that fear go.

Nick: Okay. Take a nice deep breath. That feeling now, is it still a three?

Malka: No.

Nick: Has it gone down a little bit more? How does it feel now?

Malka: It feels gone.

Nick: Good. So this feeling that it's not safe to piss people off, does that feel different now?

Malka: Yeah, that feels different.

Nick: Okay. This feeling that bad things will happen, does that feel different now?

Malka: Yes.

Nick: This feeling that it's not safe to make mistakes, does that feel different now?

Malka: It feels different. That doesn't feel entirely gone yet.

Nick: Okay. Let's talk about making mistakes. So one of my favorite quotes is that, "If you're not allowing yourself to fail, then you're not allowing yourself to succeed," because it's through our failures, which is other word for mistakes, that we learn and we grow and we expand so there is absolutely nothing wrong with mistakes. Would you agree with that?

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Okay.

Malka: But-

Nick: But... Go on. So it's not safe to make a mistake because if I do...

Malka: I could hurt people.

Nick: I could hurt people, but here's the thing, we live in an attraction based reality. There is no assertion. True or false?

Malka: True.

Nick: Good. So you cannot assert anything onto anyone that they're not already practicing vibrationally. If they're already practicing it vibrationally, then they're going to experience it no matter what, whether it comes from you or from somewheres else.

Malka: True.

Nick: So this belief that, I can hurt other people, does that even make sense?

Malka: No, not from there.

Nick: Right. Because they're already a vibrational match to that experience.

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: So your mistakes are really just you being a cooperative component for other people. So it's not safe to make mistakes. What number would you give that now, if you really think about it? Really feel it out.

Malka: No, it's okay to make mistakes.

Nick: Okay. It feels better now?

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Now we started off with this unsafe feeling, way at the start, which you ranked it as an eight. Does it still feel like it's an eight or does it feel different now?

Malka: It feels different now. Yeah.

Nick: Yeah. What number would you give it? Does it feel like it's completely gone? Is there still a charge there?

Malka: I feel charge at the back of my heart, but that's probably gone after a good night's sleep.

Nick: Good. So that emotional charge, does it feel like it's down to a zero?

Malka: Yeah.

Nick: Awesome, so this feeling that you felt for your entire life, feels like it's mostly gone?

Malka: Yeah. It does.

Nick: Excellent. Pretty good for 30 minutes of work, right?

Malka: Pretty good for 30 minutes.

Nick: Do you feel a lot lighter?

Malka: Yeah. It also feels a little bit unreal.

Nick: Good. So take a second and choose for it to be real. Recognize, "Wow. It's that easy."

Malka: It's that easy.

Nick: And, "Wow. I've been trained in the tools that I can now use them with other people, because you're in my facilitator program. How cool is that?

Malka: Yeah, I really like those.

Nick: Yeah. I think you've been working with other people using these tools already, haven't you?

Malka: Yes. I have.

Nick: Amazing.

Malka: They work really nicely, but it's much more difficult to get a real handle on your own. I can't be in the same energy with my- crosstalk.

Nick: I love that you're saying that. So, what Malka is saying here is that, on any given topic, we're always in the energy of the problem or the energy of the solution. When it comes to our own programming and our own emotions and our own stuff, then that puts us into the energy of the problem. So when we're in the energy of the problem, it's much more difficult to work through our own stuff when we're in it, and working with a practitioner, well trained facilitator, will hold the energy of the solution and guide you from the problem into the solution where you can then shift out of these unserving beliefs and emotions. And Malka, you did a fantastic job today. Thank you playing.

Malka: Thank you so much for having me. This was- crosstalk

Nick: Any final-

Malka: ... working on for a very long time already.

Nick: Excellent. Any final questions or comments? Anything else you'd like to share before we close out for today?

Malka: No. Yeah, it's really that easy.

Nick: It is. Again, the human mind likes to think that it's got to be something complicated because this is something I've had all my life and it's not. This work really comes down to just having the proper tools, little bit of consistency and sticking with it, and big life changing shifts happen from that. I have no doubt that you're going to be experiencing some big life changing shifts in your reality after clearing this lifelong fear of unsafety, so good job.

Malka: Thank you very much.

Nick: Awesome. So that concludes today's episode of Change Your Reality.
